Gino back on recording scene

MANILA, Philippines - Gino Padilla returns to the recording scene with a collection of what may be some of the best Filipino compositions in English of recent years. Titled Let Me Be The One after the monster hit by Jimmy Bondoc, the CD features an artist at his peak as a vocalist doing justice to songs with impressive chart histories.

Let Me Be The One is made up of But If You Leave Me composed and first performed by A.M.B. Junior; Don’t Say Goodbye written by Louie Ocampo and a big hit by Pops Fernandez; Even If a song by Cecile Azarcon popularized by Jam Morales; I Still Believe In Loving You by Jimmy Borja, Lorie Barth and Ralf Stemmann sang by Sarah Geronimo; I’ve Fallen For You by Jet Montelibano for Jamie Rivera; If by Nelson del Castillo; Let Me Be The One by Jimmy Bondoc; Line To Heaven by Paco Arrespacochaga for The Introvoys; A Million Miles Away by Robert More Jr. recorded by Joey Albert; Now That I Have You by Trina Belamide for The CompanY; Perfect by Medwin Marfil for True Faith; So Slow by Totop Suzara for Freestyle; Why Can’t It Be by Rannie Raymundo; and To Love Again by Odette Quesada for Sharon Cuneta.

Gino’s big break was as the legendary Tina Turner’s singing and dancing partner in Pepsi’s In The Mood For Moving commercial. He next recorded a jingle for CloseUp toothpaste. Titled Closer You and I, the song became his first big hit and earned him the Awit awards for Best Ballad Recording and Song of the Year. His other hits include Gusto Kita, I Believe In You, Let the Love Begin, The Power Of Your Love and the theme from the movie Ninja Kids, We’ve Got The Power with Randy Santiago and Juan Miguel Salvador.
