MANILA, Philippines - GMA Network chairman, president and CEO Lawyer Felipe Gozon added another feather in his cap when he was recently named one of the 2009 Business Excellence Awardees by BizNews Asia (BNA).
Gozon, among the first to receive the said honor, was cited for his overall management excellence, after transforming GMA Network into the “largest television station in the country.” He was responsible for increasing the network’s net income by more than 10-fold since assuming office in late 2000.
Gozon was also cited for “enriching the lives of Filipinos everywhere with innovative programming, quality entertainment, responsible delivery of news and information, and unfailing commitment to public service.”
The 2009 BNA Business Excellence Awards were given to companies “in recognition of the excellence of their products or service and business model.”
Guest of honor President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo presented the award to Gozon and the other winners.
“GMA Network’s success as a company is the result of our continuing effort to live by our corporate mission, vision and core values. I am glad that our efforts to serve the public are being recognized by prestigious organizations here and abroad, including BizNews Asia,” Gozon said.
