MANILA, Philippines - A press conference was held at the beautiful Sala Giulo Cesare (Julius Caesar Room), Palazzo Senatorio on Nov. 10 to launch the album Music From The Vatican – Alma Mater which will be released in the Philippines on Dec. 1 through MCA Music, Inc.
An audience of almost 100 press from all over the world attended the special launch which was hosted by Italian personality, Carlio Massarini. The Mayor of Rome gave a brief message before showing the short documentary Making The Masterpiece which gave the audience an insight into the inspiration and creation of the album which features the voice of Pope Benedict XVI.
Attendees then moved across the piazza to the stunning Basilica of Santa Maria in Aracoeli where they were treated to a performance of key compositions from the album which included the beautiful Regina Coeli (Queen of Heaven), sung by the Vatican Choir and led by Monsignor Pablo Colino. UMG employees and guests enjoyed an intimate drinks reception held on the roof terrace at the nearby Museum of Rome.
