MANILA, Philippines - Nikki Gil is beaming. And why shouldn’t she be? While her career continues to be going great guns, the romantic strings attaching her to Billy Crawford remains strong, a far cry from what is happening to Charie, Nikki’s character in the latest ABS-CBN’s afternoon soap Nagsimula Sa Puso, to start airing today.
“No, not in real life. I’m a fighter,” says Nikki when asked if she can be a martyr like Charie, whose unrequited love and sacrifices are real heartbreakers. Learn more about Nikki as she talks about career and relationship with beau Billy.
You’re doing well in singing and hosting, what made you decide to plunge into acting? (Jessa Orbel, Pasig City)
It’s the one thing that I have yet to do, ganun naman ako eh...seize the day, take the opportunity that’s in front of me. If I happen to be good at it then it’s another gift discovered.
What matters most to you - story or co-stars? (Nelia Diaz, Ma-a, Davao City)
It should be the story and you should be able to believe in the character that you’re portraying, it’s the most important part. Otherwise, it won’t be effective.
How do you gauge your acting? (Gay Luis, Sta. Cruz, Laguna)
My acting? I really don’t know; only the management can tell. Perhaps, we can just base it on the fact that I am given acting stints so that must mean I’m doing something right.
Do you believe in long-term relationship? (Ivan Garcia, Ilocos Sur)
Yes because it’s useless to get into a relationship that won’t last. Short term? It’s worth a try but why would you wish for a relationship to last only for a short while?
What do you admire most in Billy Crawford? (Rich Abad, Proj. 6, Quezon City)
He’s always in control, very authoritative kasi lalaki. And I like that because I have a very strong personality so I need someone who has a stronger personality than me.
Do you see yourself raising a family? With Billy? (Jo San Juan, Parañaque City)
Oh yes definitely. With Billy? Di natin masabi...but then why not?
Is there any hidden talent you may want to show? (Iris Orio, Samar)
I play the piano but I already did that for my album, wala na yata.
