Shows on Skycable this month

MANILA, Philippines - Mysteries of water, the intriguing universe, and ancient civilization headline Skycable’s new HDtv programs which informs viewers and entertains family with high definition clarity.

Discovery HD (channel 164), the only global high definition TV network offering factual lifestyle entertainment, dives into the deep blue with the new series Water of Life. Presented through Discovery Channel’s compelling way of producing documentaries Water of Life demystifies the puzzling origin of water and how it supports life on earth. Follow the adventure Thursday nights at 7.

History HD (channel 165), leading destination for award-winning original non-fiction series, brings the HDtv premiere of Ancient Discoveries. The gripping new series delves into pre-historic inventions previously believed to have been created only during modern times. It uncovers how ancient man devised many inventions including battleships powered by bulls, and machine guns that used arrows as ammunition. Ancient Discoveries airs Saturdays beginning Sept. 19 at 8 p.m. The Universe, also on History HD, explores deep space disasters, the possibility of life on outer space, parallel universe and others. It also takes a revealing look at what can cause Armageddon — from threats of gigantic rocks falling from space to nuclear bombs. The saga that is The Universe  begins Sept. 23 and airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
