Paolo Abrera joins Drew in Balik-Bayan

MANILA, Philippines - Traveler and Chances Are host Paolo Abrera joins resident biyahero Drew Arellano tomorrow, Aug. 21 as Balik-Bayan features the second part of its journey to Coron, Palawan.

Last Friday, Drew and Paolo visited Cayangan Lake, the cleanest and greenest lake in Asia which lies in the ancestral domain of one of Coron’s tribes — the Tagbanuas. They sampled the native Coron treat of sweet cashews called bandi.

The buddies take a dip in the one-of-a-kind Maquinit Hot Springs. Its saltwater is certified to soothe muscle pains after a long day of nature tripping.

The two are also in for an authentic Coron culture experience as the Tribu Calamianon shares with them their folk songs of yesterday and today.

Drew flexes his muscles as he serves up the traditional Coron dish called lauya. He and Paolo taste ranga ranga, a kind of seafood found only in Coron.
