MANILA, Philippines - Channel [V] International and Makisig Network recently announced an agreement to launch the [V] Philippines content block on Channel [V] International while also expanding the channel’s distribution in the Philippines.
Produced and developed by Makisig Network, the [V] Philippines content block will launch on or before June 1, and will feature Tagalog-language content geared towards youth audiences across the Philippines. Local VJs, bands and artists will make up the bulk of the content offering.
Makisig Network has included Channel [V] International in its basic channels on Sky Cable (Channel 59).
TV executive Cheah Chee Kong said, “Channel [V] International is a vital brand for young people across Asia and we are thrilled to see it grow its presence and localize in a market that loves music and popular culture as much as the Philippines. We look forward to working closely with Makisig to cement Channel [V] as the go-to destination for youth entertainment in the market.”

For its part, Makisig Network looks forward to a long relationship with a renowned music and entertainment channel in Asia that has long been popular in the Philippines. Channel [V]’s rich and varied content and programs are perfect match to Makisig’s new direction, that of providing entertainment for the youth. The partnership also calls for major events which will be held in Manila.
