Dissecting miracles

MANILA, Philippines - Anything is possible. It was this simple notion that initiated the creation of Q-11’s latest show Chances Are. But nothing about it is simple or typical.

Chances Are is a groundbreaking documentary show that dares to explore, examine and explain mysterious events and miraculous occurrences week after week. While such stories may have been reported in the news or discussed in other programs, the show will be the only one to examine and present each and every aspect of the story based on what science, religion, human behavior and even unconventional wisdom can prove and establish. Chances Are will use latest technology to analyze what the naked eye cannot see.

For its pilot episode, it will delve into the case of David Calo, the young boy who apparently came back from the dead returning with tales and illustrations of his visit to heaven and encounters with Jesus and angels. But a cloud of doubt has been cast over his experience. Did David really cross-over? Did he actually die and what was really the cause of his death?

Host Paolo Abrera admits he himself is stepping into uncharted ground. “I’m really excited about Chances Are. Not only is it a new territory for local TV, but it also gives me a chance to explore a different side of my personality through a different style of hosting. Stories of miraculous events, one-in-a million chances of survival, the supposed paranormal realms and other great mysteries of the world.

Chances Are premieres on March 22, 7:45 p.m.
