MANILA, Philippines - Sarah Geronimo went up the stage six times to claim her trophies at the Meralco Theater, where the Myx Music Awards 2009 was held Thursday night.
The star of You Changed My Life won for Favorite MYX Celebrity VJ, Favorite Media Soundtrack (for A Very Special Love), Favorite Remake (for A Very Special Love), Favorite Mellow Video (A Very Special Love), Favorite Female Artist and Favorite Artist.
“Nakakahiya na ‘to,” a smiling Sarah beamed while holding her trophy aloft. She thanked her fans, or Popsters, for her latest string of honors.
Highlighting the event was the presentation of the MYX Magna Award to the Eraserheads, composed of Ely Buendia, Raymund Marasigan, Buddy Zabala and Marcus Adoro. The group was cited for its exceptional contribution to the music industry.
Special citations went to Charice and The Journey’s Arnel Pineda for “being an inspiration to Filipinos and for being a role model to the youth.”

Those who graced the star-studded awards rites were Lea Salonga, Ogie Alcasid, Rachelle Ann Go, Gab Valenciano, Geneva Cruz, Dingdong Avanzado, Jessa Zaragoza, Candy Pangilinan, Pokwang, Mark Bautista, Dennis Trillo, Meryl Soriano, Lovi, Krista Ranillo, Jeffrey Hidalgo, Kyla, Jay-R, Enchong Dee, Baron Geisler, Vice Ganda, Nina Jose, Ping Medina, Jon Avila and Precious Adona.
The awards night will be aired tomorrow, March 1, starting with the Red Carpet Special at 8:30 p.m. The awards proper at 9 p.m. and the post-event party at 11:30 p.m. on MYX at Skycable Channel 23.
