MANILA, Philippines --Three art films bagged this year's Art Film Festival awards hosted by the PWU Independent Film group.
Named Best Short Feature was "Singaw" by Robert Milan Jr. of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran. "Kamatis" by Brian Javier also of Colegio de San Juan de Letran and "Aparador" by Jomel Alviar of Asia Pacific College were awarded for Best Screenplay and Best Director, respectively.
The 5th Art Film Festival of the PWU Independent Film Group was held at the Audio-visual room of PWU Manila last Jan. 22 and 23 at the Audio-Visual Room of PWU Manila.
The film festival featured film screenings, a film forum, and the annual inter-collegiate short film competition. It also showcased the ten finalists in the short film competition, which received 42 entries.
The jury members for this year's competition included TV host Angel Jacob, theater actor and director Rolando Inocencio, award-winning screenwriter Vic Acedillo Jr., and the founder and festival director of PWU-IFG, filmmaker Hubert Tibi.
