Rufa Mi at The Library

After almost three years as a sing-along master-host at The Library Comedy Bar and Resto, Rufa Mi (photo) is staging her first solo show titled I Am Me, Rufa Mi on Feb. 3 at the comedy bar.

Rufa Mi will showcase her prowess in singing, hosting and comic sketching.

Rufa Mi is bent on launching her solo career with a bang, in time for the new year. The show’s director Andrew de Real convinced Rufa Mi that it’s her time to conquer the live stage on her own.

“This is long overdue. You should have done this last year. If you won’t do it now, when do you plan to do it? There’s always the first time,” Andrew told Rufa Mi.

Among the talents of The Library, Rufa Mi is one of th standouts because of her appeal, sexiness and beautiful face. She can mimic the voice and movements of Rufa Mae Quinto.

Rufa Mi’s friends had long been telling her that she bears striking resemblance to Rufa Mae Quinto, her idol. That’s why she made it a point to mimic Rufa Mae’s antics to the delight of many.

Rufa Mi auditioned for Pinoy Pop Superstar in 2004 but she didn’t make it. She followed this up by auditioning in On the Spot, an impersonation contest on Eat, Bulaga!. She still didn’t make the grade. She joined anew Eat, Bulaga!’s search for EB babes. Still, victory was elusive but De Real, one of the judges of the search, gave her the break to be one of the in-house talents of The Library, performing every Friday night to bring laughter and cheer to the crowd.

She also became a regular of Nuts Entertainment where her former screen name Krysta Mae was changed by Joey de Leon to Rufa Mi. She also appeared on GMA 7 shows like Tasya Pantasya, S.O.P., Sis and others.

Joining Rufa Mi on the show are IAM, RM, Wally Bayola, Rowell Quizon and Sugar Mercado.
