MBC bags awards at Golden Dove

Dyok Aksyon Radyo Iloilo’s May Ortega was awarded Best Newscaster for Radio at the recently-concluded Golden Dove Awards given by the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster ng Pilipinas (KBP).

That same night, MBC’s flagship station dzRH also took home four more trophies — Best Radio Drama and Best Culture and Arts Program for Radio for Balintataw, Best Public Service Program on Radio for Operation Tulong, and Best Sports Program on Radio for Chris Capulso’s MBC Sports.

Just weeks earlier, dzRH’s Sugpuin ang Korupsyon, a co-production with the Cultural Center of the Philippines, scored double at the Catholic Mass Media Awards as Best Radio Drama and Best Public Affairs Program for Radio. Art2Art, the Sunday afternoon education and culture program hosted by Lisa Macuja-Elizalde for dzRH, also received an award of merit.

At the recent Philippine Quill Awards, the International Association of Broadcast Communicators gave recognition to the program Land Bank sa DZRH at Radyo Natin for outstanding achievement in the field of development communications.

The recent surveys released by the Radio Research Council showed dzRH rating No. 1 on the AM band — mirroring the top rankings achieved by MBC stations 90.7 Love Radio and 101.1YESFM on the FM band. 96.3 DWRocK, recently acquired by MBC from ACWS-United Broadcasting Network, Inc. and Exodus Broadcasting Company, was also a top-rater.
