Do you already belong to this new, cool trip in which a lot of teens have now become part of? If you have been living under a rock, then you probably need to rouse yourselves and join the latest ”in” thing today.
This fad is one of positivism, of having the right state of mind that allows young people to be in the happy, positive side of life. It’s a fun trend if you try to think about it — books that talk about the secret to happiness, clubs that teach the youth confidence and cheer, The sad and the negative has simply got to go.
Thanks to Coca-Cola, the call for teen upliftment has a new ally. Coca-Cola believes that for teens to change for the better, they should be given the opportunity to see that which is great about being young and realize that by having the right kind of outlook in life, they can achieve their dreams.
This latest wave of support for teen upliftment began through the song Ang Sarap Dito. This piece by Project 1 is making it big nowadays, being the favorite of many teens everywhere. It is also one of the top-played songs in the metro’s leading radio stations, and its music video is frequently seen in music TV channels and even in YouTube.
Even the Pinoy Big Brother show has embraced the positive spirit of Ang Sarap Dito in its Teen Edition Plus season. Teen housemates gamely created dance steps for the song, to portray why life is great inside Big Brother’s House, and to encourage teens to live and breathe this positive attitude.
The funny thing is Ang Sarap Dito initially caused a lot of buzz in the past few weeks. Rumor had it that members of different prominent bands were going to shift to try out something new and different. And to which new group were they supposed to shift? Yes indeed, to Project 1.
Project 1 is composed of members of the different rumored bands: Raimund Marasigan of Sandwich, Katwo Puertollano of Duster, Carlos Calderon of Chicosci, Francis Reyes of The Dawn, Clem Castro of Camera Walls, Uela Basco of Chillitees and Jazz Nicolas of Itchyworms.
Contrary to hearsay, however, they never really shifted loyalties. According to Project 1, they came together because they have a common goal — to inspire the youth.
The song aims to uplift the lives of teens with its cheerful, inspiring and moving message. “We should all believe that while life is a serious business, we also need to learn how to be positive, to take life lightly, and to be happy,” says Francis. “In order to get through life, you have to make it a point to be optimistic. You should never concentrate only on your problems. I think the song defines just how we should think about our lives, to change for the better and to see the positive,” he shares.
Members of Project 1 say they really appreciate the support Coca-Cola is giving them. “It‘s really a good thing that Coca-Cola supports the call for positivism,” says Katwo. “This song really represents good values and its message is something we should all try to live by,” she adds.
Coca-Cola has even weaved Ang Sarap Dito into its newest TV ad featuring the story of an angel who joins the blissful Coke side of life. The charming angel has also caught the attention of people everywhere, as giant billboards showing her reaching out for a Coke bottle with the tagline “Ang Sarap Dito,” were raised around the metropolis.
Coke has also created a 30-second Coca-Cola version of Ang Sarap Dito so that young people can hear its inspiring message in radio stations more often. Soon, a 60-second Coca-Cola version of Ang Sarap Dito‘s music video will air, further boosting the song‘s exposure on TV for all young people to enjoy.
Aside from this, Coca-Cola will be going around in different barangays, where neighborhood stores will be dressed up with “angel“ posters and streamers, and where teens will be invited to afternoons of games, music and free-flowing Coke. These activities will be concrete examples that when one is in the Coke side of life, one can truly say “Ang Sarap Dito.“
Even Project 1 members themselves encourage teens to live and jam to the Coke side of life. “The Coke side of life is fun,“ says Raimund. “Being in a happy state of mind is the kind of disposition that allows you to put yourself in order so you can make your dreams come true. Coca-Cola encourages every teenager to have this cool, fun and positive outlook,“ he concludes with a big wide smile.
So why waste your youth on things that don‘t bring you joy? Be uplifted, act with a bold, positive attitude and live in the Coke side of life. Because there‘s no doubt, Ang Sarap Dito!
