"We should not hurry love," Sarah offers. Besides, she knows all about some men’s scheming ways. That’s why she is careful about whom she will give her heart to for the first time.
Believe it or not, Sarah has even considered entering the nunnery.
The Teen Princess, however, sheds her Maria Clara image on Love Spell Presents Sweet Sixty which airs every Sunday after Your Song on ABS-CBN.
"My mom was surprised how I was able to play my character," relates Sarah. "Rose is a bit edgy and kikay."
In the TV series, Sarah is the young Gina Pareño. Doña Rosing (Pareño) cries out of frustration upon seeing how liberated her granddaughter Anna (Roxanne Guinoo) is.
Enter Bong (Oyo Sotto), a handsome young man who offers Doña Rosing a rose to appease her. Something magical happens when Doña Rosing accidentally drops a tear on the rose. The 60-year-old momma turns into a lovely 16-year-old. Delighted, Doña Rosing takes advantage of the situation.
Love Spell Presents Sweet Sixty is Oyo and Sarah’s first team-up. It’s Oyo’s second TV outing for the Kapamilya network. The first was Love Spell’s Big Switch.
"I find her pretty and approachable," Oyo describes Sarah. "She is quiet but makes small talk, too. "
"I consider Oyo a brother," Sarah relates. "I know he was romantically linked to Anne Curtis and Angel Locsin."Thus, a possible romance between the two is far-fetched. As Sarah puts it, "Work tops our (list of) priorities."
Oyo, for his part, says he asked permission from Tape and Dad Vic Sotto before appearing on Love Spell. Apparently, his wish was granted.
Speaking of wishes come true, Jake Cuenca, Roxanne’s love interest in the show, is seeing his dream of working with long-time crush Sarah come true. But during the shoot, the half-Spanish, half-Pinoy Jake seems to have had a change of heart.
He has been seen dating Roxanne.
"We do go out," admits Jake. "She is nice. We’re friends. I enjoy her company. We’re doing just fine."
Like Sarah, Jake would rather open his heart slowly  but surely.
