GMA premieres reality-based star search

Experience the excitement of making dreams come true. See how determination can pave the road to stardom. Experience the real drama of real people who believe in themselves. Behold an actual quest for real and fresh talent.

Another innovation in Philippine broadcasting will be unveiled as GMA introduces Starstruck on GMA starting tonight at 8.

Hosted by Dingdong Dantes and Nancy Castiglione, Starstruck is a grand battle of wit, talent, looks and personality among 14 young aspiring artists, two of whom will emerge as the newest additions to GMA’s pool of stars . Winners will receive an exclusive talent contract worth P1,000,000 each plus half a million pesos in cash.

This reality-based artista search features contestants in actual and unscripted scenes to give viewers a first-hand account of how the young aspirants take on every "test" that will come their way. It will be an ultimate test of determination as they fight on to stay in the game.

Staying in the game is no easy task. The Starstruck contestants will give their best performance not just for the distinguished judges (Joyce Bernal, Ida Henares and Joey de Leon) but most importantly, for the viewers who will also determine their fate. On top of being reality-based, Starstruck is also an interactive artista search that allows viewers to eliminate contestants through their SMS votes. Viewers can also vote through the Starstruck hotline (1908-GMASTAR) and via the website www.starstruck.tv. Every week, one Starstruck aspirant will be voted off until the contestants are down to two – one male and one female – who will move on to become GMA’s newest star.

Starstruck
is directed by the young Lino Cayetano who has studied and taught film in the University of the Philippines, aside from taking up a film and audiovisual communications course in New York Film Academy.

So, go ahead and be part of this innovative artista search bound to create waves in local. Dare to dream. Prepare to believe. Fight to survive. Get ready to be Starstruck.
