Lea wont be singing songs she has performed in her past concerts. She wants something new for this concert. "The challenge was not in its being an all-OPM show," says Bobby Garcia, director of the show. "The real challenge was how to trim the number of songs we have chosen. Lahat magaganda."
Leas last concert in Manila paid tribute to Broadway music. Songs From Home will showcase the best Filipino songs. "It will be a celebration of pure OPM music. Selection of songs was a long process. We e-mailed a lot until we came up with the best songs of the 50s, 60s up to the present."
Lea will perform with the 50-piece Manila Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Gerard Salonga.
Songs from Home also gathers the best creative artists in the industry. Ariel Rivera and Ogie Alcasid whom Lea worked with in the past, wil perform as guests. On the production side, Songs From Home assembled some of the best artists in their respective fields. Bobit Jacinto for one, will handle the sound design, Mickey Muñoz is the scriptwriter, Gino Gonzalez will design the sets and Gerry Fernandez, the lights.
