Dayanara pregnant with second child

• Besides that of Korina Sanchez, two other programs that I listen to on DZMM are Todo-Todo Walang Preno (starting at 10 a.m. Monday through Friday) and Ms. M, Ms. O, Mismo! (2:30 to 4 p.m., also Monday through Friday). The Todo-Todo tandem of Joey Galvez and Winnie Cordero and that of Mismo’s Ogie Diaz and Rosel Manahan are absolute delights, especially if you’re stuck in the traffic. I also try to catch the ABS-CBN early-morning show MUB (Magandang Umaga Bayan) because of Ogie who delivers blind-items-on-the-air with a unique wake-upper style. Thanks to the ABS-CBN bigwigs for making good use of Ogie’s talent.

• Reader Nela Mae Carillo writes that she herself, like Regine Velasquez, is a migraine sufferer. She’s advising Regine to try Excedrin. "It works with me and I hope it does with her," Nela said.

• New York-based reader Freddie Buan reports that Billy Crawford is featured in the March 2003 issue of GQ magazine and that Billy has started shooting the prequel to The Exorcist in Morocco, directed by Paul Schrader, with Liam Neeson among Billy’s co-stars. (Note: Funfare will get a copy of the GQ issue as soon as possible and pass on to you what it has to say about Billy.)

Though she has been gone from local shores for a few years and living happily ever after in Puerto Rico with husband Marc Anthony, Dayanara Torres continues to be a "hot item" as far as her Filipino fans are concerned. In fact, Funfare has been swamped with inquiries about the latest on the couple.

The good news is that Dayanara is pregnant with her and Marc’s second child, due later this year. In an Associated Press story (e-mailed to Funfare by reader "Jedic"), Marc’s publicist confirmed the rumor but declined to release further details. Dayanara and Marc wanted to delay the announcement but a San Juan (Puerto Rico) newspaper out-"scooped" them.

According to the story, Dayanara was due to arrive in San Juan (from the US) to shoot an Advil commercial with the two other Misses Puerto Rico who have won the Miss Universe crown, Marisol Malaret (1970) and Deborah Carthy-Deu (1985).

Marc and Dayanara have been married for three years and renewed their wedding vows in a lavish ceremony at Old San Juan’s Roman Catholic cathedral in December, 2002 following their reconciliation after a six-month separation. They have a two-year-old son, Cristian Anthony. Marc also has an eight-year-old daughter, Arianna, from a previous relationship. Marc, the Grammy-winning singer (hailed as the Salsa King) born in New York to Puerto Rican parents, first married Dayanara in a Las Vegas civil ceremony on May 20, 2000. Dayanara is from the San Juan suburb of Toa Alta.

I would like to correct one e-mail sender about her incorrect correction to the word British. This word can not only be used as an adjective but also as a noun. It can never be a noun, though. Examine these two simple sentences as the word is used.: The British gave a cup of coffee to a member of the band. The word British in this sentence is used as noun subject. However, in this example, The British law is different from the American, the word British is used as a noun-adjective. I think you need more lessons on your grammar and content structures of English language. Hey, one more thing, Filipinos are English-language structured! Thanks and have a great day!
