ABS-CBN talents in GMA’s Pira-Piraso

So who says that GMA-7 is banning talents of ABS-CBN and that Channel 2 is not allowing its artists from appearing on Channel 7? At least, not in the case of Joyce Jimenez of Whattamen and bona fide ABS-CBN talent Carlos Agassi who are appearing together on Pira-Pirasong Pangarap, which is aired Monday to Friday – from 3:30 to 4 p.m. – on GMA-7.

Starting Monday, Pira-Piraso (hosted by Gina de Venecia) is featuring the two Channel 2 talents in a special presentation entitled Alyana that will run daily for eight weeks. Based on a true story, Alyana (written Agnes de Guzman and Bernie Siapco) casts Joyce initially as a bride who gets stood up by her groom and who loses her focus in life after that traumatic experience.

Enter Carlos Agassi, a rich man she doesn’t love, but whom she marries anyway upon the prodding of her parents. Her struggles as a lost and confused woman and how she rebuilds her dreams in the basic story of Alyana, directed by Jeffrey Jeturian and Manny Castañeda.

This Pira-pirasong Pangarap special presentation, incidentally, will feature Paolo Bediones in a cameo role, so we’ll find out here how he’ll make the shift from hosting to acting.
