MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Tourism on Wednesday featured the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 after major upgrades were done by the New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC).

Among the upgrades were the biometric eGates that could “clear immigration in as fast as 20 seconds.”

The automated border-control system uses passport-scanning and facial-recognition technology that improves throughput and reduces waiting times at immigration counters, the NNIC said.

The NNIC also expanded its food and beverage lineup by positioning 17 Filipino brands, regional flavors and local favorites in its food hall.

NAIA placed seventh in the March 2026 Airport Parking and Hotels rankings as among the best in international layover food options.
