Carcar, Argao belles grab quarterfinals wins

CEBU, Philippines — South Division teams Carcar City and Argao upended their respective foes in the quarterfinals of the  2018 Governor's Cup Inter Cities and Municipalities 18-Under Volleyball Tournament at the Argao Municipal Gym yesterday.

Carcar City belles nailed their second victory at the expense of Dalaguete, 25-11, 23-25, 25-16, while Argao extended its winning streak after a dominating straight-set win over Moalboal, 25-16, 25-18.

Dumanjug, for its part, blasted Oslob, 25-16, 26-24, for its first win in the quarters.

Meanwhile, the battle for semifinals berths continues today at the Dalaguete Municipal Gym with Argao facing Dumanjug, while Oslob taking on Carcar City as Dalaguete battling Moalboal. (FREEMAN)
