Golden State palaban kahit wala si Curry kontra sa Spurs

OAKLAND, California -- Nagtala ng 58 panalo ngayong season  ang Golden State Warriors, nagkampeon noong nakaraang taon.

Ngunit para kay head coach Steve Kerr, balewala na ito pagdating ng NBA Playoffs.

“We won 58 games this season,” sabi ni Kerr. “But in the end, none of that matters. It’s what you do in the playoffs. That’s the test. That’s the challenge. We’ll see what happens.”

Lalabanan ng Warriors ang San Antonio Spurs nang wala si star Stephen Curry dahil sa knee injury sa pagsisimula ng first-round playoffs bukas (Manila time).

Sa unang pagkakataon matapos hirangin si Kerr bilang head coach noong 2014-2015 ay papasok ang Warriors sa playoffs na hindi bitbit ang best record.

Ang Golden State ang second seed sa Western Conference sa ilalim ng No. 1 Houston Rockets, makakatapat ang Minnesota Timberwolves.

“We’re trying to get back to the finals for the fourth year in a row. And only a few teams have been able to do that. So, that’s the challenge,” dagdag pa ni Kerr.

Naipatalo ng Golden State ang 10 sa kanilang huling 17 laban kabilang ang 79-119 kabiguan sa Utah Jazz sa pagsasara ng regular season noong Martes.

Dahil sa pagkawala ni Curry ay sasandalan ng Warriors sina Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson at Draymond Green.

Sa Cleveland, haharapin ng Cavaliers, hangad muling makabalik sa NBA Finals, ang Indiana Pacers.

“You have to keep the main thing,” wika ni LeBron James sa pansamantala niyang paglayo sa social media. “In the postseason, you lose one game and it’s the end of the world. You win one game and everyone praises you. When the postseason happens, it’s one game at a time.”
