BJMP needs 1,000 jail guards
MANILA, Philippines — At least 1,000 new jail guards are expected to be hired by the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), as it launches today an online awareness campaign on vacant positions for Jail Officers 1.
The www.bjmp.gov.ph. will promote jail management as a profession and public awareness of the vacancies at the agency, according to acting BJMP chief Deogracias Tapayan.
The campaign, dubbed #ILoveBJMP, will be participated by more than 12,000 BJMP personnel, government agencies and bloggers from various media platforms, Tapayan said.
“The BJMP is offering an opportunity to young professionals who wish to pursue a career in jail management. We have 1,000 vacant positions now and we are inviting them to submit applications the soonest time possible,” he said.
Individuals working for the BJMP can help inmates and prisoners become better persons, Tapayan said.
He said those who will qualify would earn P23,204 per month, which includes the basic pay, hazard pay and other allowances.
Applicants must be graduates of any four-year course, holders of civil service eligibility or Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) license and between 21 and 30 years old, BJMP spokesperson Xavier Solda said.
Applicants may submit original copies of their birth certificates and certificates of eligibility or PRC board ratings, authenticated diplomas and transcript of records, and National Bureau of Investigation, police, barangay and court clearances to BJMP offices nationwide.
