Grab driver loses SUV to robbers

MANILA, Philippines — A Grab driver was beaten and his sport utility vehicle stolen by three men who posed as passengers in Pasig City yesterday.

Edgar Luciapao Jr., 34, was covered with bruises when he reported the carjacking of his white Mitsubishi Montero (conduction sticker NO-0006) to the Pasig police.

Luciapao, a seaman, told police he received a booking through his Grab app and picked up the passengers along Quezon Avenue at around 1:45 a.m.

They told him to bring them to Marcos Highway in Pasig, where they beat him up until he was able to escape and look for help. The robbers then took over his vehicle.
