Ladies’ Night

CEBU, Philippines - Whether simply to take a little time away from the daily grind, there is reason for the girls to gather together for a night escapade. Ibiza Beach Club at Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu launches its weekly Ladies’ Night.

Beginning October 19, from 4 p.m. to 12 midnight, Cebu’s premier dining, entertainment and party establishment hosts the belles with a treat of dance, entertainment and drinks. It’s one of those precious joys to reward oneself with, to revel in the natural high of bonding with female friends. After all, girls just want to have fun.

“Every Wednesday, we offer the ladies complimentary passes to Ibiza Beach Club, plus two drinks on the house,” announces Food and Beverage Manager Jeryl Tio. “On regular Sundays and weekdays, except Friday, we have a minimal cover charge, consumable at Ibiza Beach Club – but girls can do without paying the amount when they come and visit us on ‘Ladies’ Night’.”

For the official launch on October19, the hotel hosts a fashion event from 5 to 6 p.m., featuring creations by SOLTI Active Wear and seaside beats by celebrity DJ, Divine Maitland-Smith.

SOLTI Active Wear is a home-grown brand from Cebu that promotes sustainable lifestyle through an earth-conscious swim line made out of recycled fabrics that were cast aside by global manufacturers. 

Meanwhile, the edgy reality star of Pinoy Big Brother fame, DJ Divine joins the Jive Crew DJ roster as spin master. With her deep love for dance and electronic music, added with her training and experience under Manila’s renowned DJ Academy, urbanites and party-philes can expect an energy-filled set, as she ignites the dance floor with her infectious beats.

The weekly Wednesday fun at Ibiza Beach Club begins with sunset sessions from 4 to 6 p.m., the golden hours when to still get a good tan as one sips some refreshments, relax to cool beats, chill out and take snaps along the net pods.

Come dinner time, ladies are welcome to dine in their resort chic outfit or swimsuit, socialize between sips and nibbles, and take a cool dip in the outdoor pool. The indoor space, called the Conservatory, offers a more exclusive feel to the all-girl dinner date, complemented with spectacular ocean views. Then they sit and “meat” through dinner, either with tapas served à la carte or the Balearic-inspired signature 15-course grill, which is best paired with a variety of award-winning Manny O. wines. 

The highlight of the evening is the nightly performances by the Ibiza show team, featuring an hour of visual treat with live singing and dancing to retro pop, disco and Latin music, as well as movie musical sequences alongside daring fire exhibitions. The segment is sure to get the girls grooving and belting to every beat.
