Of portraits & philanthropy
A highly-anticipated photo exhibit titled Fashionable Senses and Sensibilities was recently mounted at The Gallery of Greenbelt 5 in Makati City.
A joint project of the Philippine Cancer Society (PCS) and the Camera Club of the Philippines, the exhibit is part of the roster of activities for one of the country’s most celebrated charity events — the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines. On display were portraits of the 2016 awardees, Style Icon, Woman of Influence and Style and Men of Extraordinary Influence as well as the Ambassadors for Life.
Photographs of the Best Dressed selection and organizing committee, under the leadership of event chairperson Angola Consul Helen Ong, were also part of the exhibit. Several iconic gowns of the late Best Dressed honorary chairperson Imelda Cojuangco were also on display as a tribute to the remarkable woman who had been one of the benevolent and loyal supporters of the glamorous fundraiser.
The exclusive affair started with a ribbon-cutting ceremony led by the selection and organizing committee members together with Camera Club of the Philippines president Philip Yu. PCS vice chairman Antonio Ma. Guerrero gave the welcome remarks.
Guests admired the lovely photographs and enjoyed the delicious cocktail fare from The French Baker courtesy of its founder Johnlu Koa. Many thanks to Artist Space, Bloomwoods Flower Shop, 105.1 Crossover FM and Ayala Malls for their support.
For 13 years now, the Best Dressed Women of the Philippines has continued its commitment to support Philippine Cancer Society in its programs to help Filipinos battling cancer.
The 2016 Best Dressed Women of the Philippines Annual Awards Ball is set on Sept. 22 at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La, Manila.
