Jr Blazers topple Braves, stay at No. 4

MANILA, Philippines - St. Benilde overpowered previously unbeaten Arellano U, 98-69, yesterday to stay inside the top four in the 92nd NCAA juniors basketball tournament at The Arena in San Juan City.

Troy Mallinllin sizzled with a game-high 24 points while Unique Naboa came off the bench to fire 20 markers as the Junior Blazers clinched their sixth win against three losses after the first round of eliminations.

The Greenhills-based squad also dealt the Braves their first defeat after sweeping their first eight matches, including a shock 93-90 victory over the San Beda Red Cubs last week.

Joel Cagulangan chipped in 12 points and spiked his effort with five rebounds and six assists.
