Trike driver held for raping girl

MANILA, Philippines – A tricycle driver was arrested before dawn yesterday, hours after he allegedly raped a nine-year-old girl in Tondo, Manila.

Aman Alaodin, 30, reportedly broke into the girl’s house and assaulted the victim, who was sleeping with her two younger brothers, at around 1 a.m.

A police officer, who asked not to be named, said the children were living with an older sister, who acts as their guardian after their parents separated several years ago. 

“The elder sister was not inside the house when the incident happened,” the source said.

He said a neighbor of the victim sought the assistance of barangay officials after learning of the attack.
