MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration on Tuesday said the southwest monsoon or 'hanging habagat' will continue to prevail and bring rains over most parts of the country on Tuesday.

In its advisory, the weather bureau said Luzon will be most affected by the habagat with Metro Manila, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA, CALABARZON experiencing cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms due to the southwest monsoon. It had the same forecast for the Western Visayas region.

PAGASA said the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms.

In the same forecast, PAGASA said the northern and western sections of Luzon will have moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest. The coastal waters along these areas will also be moderate to occasionally rough.

PAGASA said it is safe for fisherfolk to venture into slight to moderate seas since the winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest. No gale warnings were issued. —Rosette Adel
