Noy signs laws declaring local holidays

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has signed into law six bills declaring special working and school holidays in certain areas in observance of its foundation days.

Among the measures the President signed on Wednesday were Republic Act 10802, which declares July 4 of every year as holiday in Lanao del Sur; RA 10803, every June 30 in Imus, Cavite; and RA 10807 every Feb. 13 in Parañaque City.

RA 10804 declares a special working holiday in Bacoor, Cavite every Sept. 29; RA 10805, Dec. 29 in Leon, Iloilo; and RA 10806, Oct. 31 in Porac, Pampanga.

Employees who will work on these special holidays will be entitled to their regular wage.
