2 Laguna cops shot dead

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Two policemen were shot dead in separate incidents in the cities of Cabuyao and Biñan in Laguna on Wednesday and Thursday night.

Police Officer 1 Gerundo Gelizon of the Cabuyao police was responding to a robbery at the Cabuyao Town Center at 9:20 p.m. when he was shot.

Gelizon died while being treated at the Saint James Hospital in Sta. Rosa City.

In Biñan, Senior Police Officer Edgardo Munoz, 47, was gunned down by unidentified motorcycle-riding men in Barangay San Antonio  at 8:45 p.m.

Munoz was driving his motorcycle on his way home when he was waylaid.

An investigation into the shootings is ongoing.
