US donates counterterror facility to Sulu cops
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – The United States embassy has turned over a P16.9-million building to the Sulu regional police, which will be used for counterterrorism training.
The building, constructed at Camp Kasim in 2015 by the US Pacific Command-Joint Interagency Task Force West, was completed the other week.
The embassy said the facility would serve as barracks for police officers who are undergoing US-sponsored training.
The facility includes a conference room, an office for international criminal investigative training and two private offices on the ground floor. The second floor houses the sleeping quarters for male and female officers.
The barracks can accommodate 36 persons.
