Ramil Bajo, Rey Galupo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – A suspect in the stabbing of a man was injured after jumping from the sixth floor of a building in Malate, Manila to escape a mob on Saturday.

Giovanni Libaton, 27, suffered injuries and was listed in serious condition at the Ospital ng Maynila.

Initial reports said Libaton stabbed Richard Yulo, who was on a motorcycle with his 12-year-old daughter at the corner of Balingkit and Leveriza streets at around 8 a.m.

Despite his wounds, Yulo managed to drive and sought help from the residents in the area.

Seeing the responding crowd, Libaton scaled the building and jumped from the sixth floor.

Investigators have yet to determine the reason why Libaton stabbed Yulo.
