Man shot for not paying P500 debt

Bryner L. Diaz - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - After failing to pay a P500 debt, a man was shot by his neighbor past 9 a.m. yesterday at Sitio Tayong, Barangay Guibuangan, Barili town.

Philip Telebanco, 32, was rushed to the Barili District Hospital after he suffered a gunshot wound in his stomach.

Senior Police Officer 4 Elmer Opsima, desk officer of Barili Police Station, said that the victim reportedly owed his neighbor, Excel Gingoyon, P500.

Gingoyon went to the victim and asked for the payment but Telebanco reportedly could not provide the amount. This led to an argument between the two and ended after Gingoyon shot the victim in the stomach.

Gingoyon fled away after the incident while Telebanco’s family and neighbors brought him to the hospital.

Gingoyon is now the subject of a manhunt operation.  (FREEMAN)
