San Miguel claims four Minda school golf awards awards in
MANILA, Philippines – San Miguel Elementary School cornered four of the five team awards disputed during the recent ICTSI-JGFP Mindanao Inter-School golf championships at the Pueblo de Oro course in Cagayan de Oro.
San Miguel swept all the team categories (Aspirants 1 and 2 and Girls 2 and 3), leaving Oro Christian Grace School to capture the fifth team award which was the juniors competition.
Delivering for San Miguel were Cyrus Arroyo Janvir Achas and Maverick Colim who topped the Aspirants Division 1; Niño Miñoza Rolando Bregente, Ivan Parilla, Cris Aparilla and Simon Washung who ruled the Aspirants Division 2; Almica Miñoza and Maura Quijano who captured Girls 2 and Abigail Abracas and Riley Quino who won unchallenged in Girls 3.
Ryu Rolida, Marc Lu Jacob Rolida and Janro De Leon lifted the winner’s trophy in the junior division for Oro Christian Grace School of the event backed by the International Container Terminal Services, Inc. Foundation and supported by the Philippine Golf Foundation, Philippine Airlines, PacSports, Golf Depot and Inquirer Golf.
Individual winners were Jared de Leon in the seniors division, Jacky Mabaylan in the juniors division, Bregente in Aspirants 1, Zeus Sarah in Aspirants 2, Pamela Mariano in Girls Division 1, Miñoza in Girls 2 and Marie Aparilla in Girls 3.
Highlighting the event was the official turnover of donated clubs from PacSports and Golf Depot to Pueblo de Oro president Huey Tan by JGFP executive director Jack Imperial for their jungolf program. The club also received a Jungolf Friendly certificate.
Meanwhile, the Mindanao Junior Open conducted by The Junior Golfers League and sponsored by the ICTSI Foundation will be held Oct. 25-30 at the Apo Golf Club and Rancho Palos Verdes courses.
