Teacher killed, dumped
SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Philippines – A teacher was stabbed dead and dumped in a canal in Gerona town, Tarlac last Thursday.
Jess Gallarte, 38, was clad only in underwear when he was found in Barangay Amalcan. His body bore 15 stab wounds, Gerona police chief Superintendent Ariel Red said.
The victim’s motorcycle was found nearby, with the key still in the ignition.
Gallarte was last seen driving his motorcycle in Guimba town Wednesday night.
A relative of the victim who refused to be identified said Gallarte was heading for Tarlac City on that day.
The victim’s wallet and phone were missing.
Red theorized that Gallarte could have been robbed by a lone motorcycle-riding man, which was why his motorcycle was not taken away.
Case investigator Artem Balagtas said witnesses saw two motorcycles parked near the area at past midnight on that day.
