Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – Motorcycle-riding men shot dead a former police officer in Tanauan City, Batangas Friday.

Former Police Officer 2 Michael Castro died at the scene, city police chief Superintendent Christopher Olazo said.

Castro, who was formerly assigned at the regional police safety battalion, had been dismissed from the service due to his alleged involvement in crimes.

Castro was in a car on his way to the city proper when the suspects shot at him in Barangay Poblacion 4. Olazo said the killing could be drug-related.
