DBTC scores twin kill in 5th Sinulog bootfest

Caecent No-ot Magsumbol - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – The Don Bosco Technological Center booters scored a resounding twinkill via the under-9 and 11 categories of the 5th Sinulog Cup football festival yesterday at the San Roque Parish football field in Barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

DBTC booters proved too much to handle for their opponents as they are the first team so far to score a double championship.

Don Bosco actually had a 1-2 finish in the under 9 class with its Team 6 defeating its Team 2 in the final battle with a convincing 3-0 win.

Don Bosco’s Team 2 actually was expected to win the title over its Team 6 with the former winning all games under their group in the elimination round as Team 6 had three wins and a draw.

Don Bosco’s Team 6, however, improved further as the action progressed and eventually won the title to coach Glenn Ramos' delight.

In the under-11 class, Don Bosco's Team 3 outsmarted Tabor Hills 2-1 in the championship match.

DBTC’s Team 3 prevented Tabor Hills in scoring a double victory after the latter’s girls squad grabbed the under-15 title last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu won the boys 15 division over University of San Carlos-BED , 1-0. USC will not go home empty handed as they claim the boys under-13 class trophy.

Saint Theresa's College-B got a convincing victory in the girls 18 division after beating Gannet FC via penalty shootout, 2-0. (FREEMAN)
