Mandaue police need more bikes

CEBU, Philippines - The Mandaue City Police Office needs more bicycles to strengthen the implementation of police visibility to barangay level and deter crimes.

Mandaue City Police Office Director Senior Superintendent Petronelli Baldebrin said at present, he has assigned bicycle-riding policemen to conduct patrol, but they are reportedly using their own bicycle.

According to Baldebrin, with policemen riding bicycle, they can penetrate to the different barangays, even to the sitios.

He said for almost one month now, he has implemented more police visibility in the city with the use of bikes.

He is planning to ask assistance from the city government of Mandaue.

Baldebrin, who also rides his own bicycle in visiting the different barangays in Mandaue City, said they have arrested persons involved in selling illegal drugs. (FREEMAN)
