CEBU, Philippines - Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza is satisfied with the performance of Lapu-Lapu City Police Office director Rey Lyndon Lawas and is contemplating to request for his extension of office once his two year stint as city director will end on February 23.

Radaza said that she is happy with the performance of Lawas  while serving as LLCPO director as he is active and supportive to the city’s anti-crime efforts, especially in the barangays.

Radaza added that she is yet to receive a list of candidates for Lawas' replacement from the Police Regional Office-7.

For his part, Lawas said that  he would extend his stay in the city after his two-year service expires this  month as he still have  plans for the city that he wanted to accomplished.

One of his plans, if his service gets extended, is to create the Motorcycle Police Crime Response Team. He said motorcycles can help police respond more quickly to crimes.

Lawas said he has requested the city government to procure eight motorcycles to add to the four existing motorcycles of the police.

He  said he also plans to put up more police outposts in areas where criminal activities are rampant.

He added  his service can be extended upon the mayor's request, although it will be decided upon by the Philippine National Police national headquarters.
