Kidnapped boy rescued in Cavite

CAMP VICENTE Lim, Laguna, Philippines – A six-year-old boy reported snatched in Batangas last Jan. 9 was rescued in a police operation in Cavite that also resulted in the arrest of two suspected kidnappers yesterday morning.

Raymundo Obing, 54, and Joel Talledo, 26, both of San Pedro, Laguna, were arrested for allegedly kidnapping the boy, a son of a prominent businessman in Batangas.

The boy was placed under police custody in Camp Crame, Quezon City following the rescue in Barangay Dalivan, Carmona, at about 8:30 a.m.

Reports said the boy and his driver were on the way to school in Tanauan City when unidentified men flagged them down in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.

The gunmen dragged the victims into their vehicle and brought them to Cavite.

Police said the kidnappers demanded a ransom from the boy’s parents in exchange for his release.
