NU, Marist stay unbeaten in Got Skills caging

MANILA, Philippines - National University, Marist School and Xavier School dominated their respective rivals to remain unbeaten in Week 4 of the first Got Skills Age Group Basketball Showdown at the Xavier School Sports Complex in San Juan last Sunday.

Rhay Van Amsali fired 21 points for the NU Bullpups, who trounced the San Beda-Taytay side, 59-49, for their third straight win in Group A in the 13-under class.

Marist School, behind Jose Adrian Antonio’s 13 points, waylaid Colegio San Agustin, 57-37, to likewise post its third win in the 12-under side.

Around 1,100 kids turned up in the fourth week of the cagefest backed by Chris Sports, SKLZ Philippines, Fitness and Athletics Company, No Curfew Watch Store, Wize and Ope Watch and Goody Gulp Milk Drink.

Xavier School, which earlier defeated School of St. Anthony, 44-18, won over La Salle-Zobel, 47-27, with Miguel Tan scoring eight points as it improved to 5-1 in the 11-under section.

Ryley Tuason scored 13 points and hauled down 13 rebounds for Xavier School, which edged Don Bosco Technical Institute, 42-39, for a 4-0 slate in the 10-under category.

John Louie Salinas shot 16 points for Marist, which prevailed over La Salle-Zobel, 30-21, for its third straight victory and a share of the lead with Xavier School in the 9-under class.

In other 13-under matches, John Carl Putian made 16 points and nine rebounds for DBTI when they prevailed over Southeastern College, 56-38, and Clint Escamis drilled in 19 points for San Beda-Alabang in their 54-32 rout of CSA.
