MANILA, Philippines - Kyle Tan exploded for 17 points as Uno High School downed St. Jude Catholic School, 59-51, to keep its unblemished record intact in the juniors division of the first Philippine Ching Yuen Athletic Association (PCYAA) Basketball Championships held Wednesday at the Uno High School in Manila.

In a battle of undefeated teams, the Uneans made a living from the foul line by making all their eight charities to dodge the upset bid of the Judenites in the six-team tournament.

Tan was ably supported by Clinton Choa and Charles Chong, who finished with 16 and 13 markers, as Uno High rolled to their fifth straight win in the event presented by Boysen Paints, Valentino Watches and Clocks, Sony Xperia , Duralite Sandals, and Nougat Peanut Bar.

Uno never trailed throughout the game, taking the half by 10 points, 24-14, before racing to a 51-38 advantage on a triple by Choa.

St. Jude Catholic School, however, came roaring back to threaten the Uneans, 51-48. But the Uneans refused to wilt under pressure and turned back the Judenites by making their foul shots to prevail.

St. Jude slipped to 4-1.

In the developmental division, St. Jude notched its second win in four starts by downing Philippine Cultural College, 37-33.
