Man arrested at checkpoint

Flor Z. Perolina - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - The police stopped a man at a checkpoint at the North Road in barangay Jagobiao, Mandaue City Monday evening for not wearing a helmet and arrested him later on after alleged shabu and .45 cal. bullets were found in his possession.

Arrested was Warren Ranili, a resident of sitio Cadauhan, barangay Talamban, Cebu City.

SPO1 Gregorio Cabisares, desk officer of the Basak police station, said Ranili presented a fake driver’s license, although he possessed an original one. The registration of his motorcycle had expired, Cabisares said.

Ranili admitted owning the shabu, which was for his own consumption but denied being a seller.

He said the three bullets were given by a friend.

Charges have been filed against Ranili in the City Prosecutor’s Office in Mandaue City.  (FREEMAN)
