A+EBA 9th Corporate Cup unfurls today at USC Gym

CEBU, Philippines — A total of 10 teams will slug it out for the coveted crown in the Architects+Engineers Basketball Association (A+EBA) 9th Corporate Cup, which gets underway today (Saturday, April 25) at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Downtown Campus Gym.

“Hopefully our ninth season will be more exciting and successful,” said A+EBA President Engr. Wilson Bas Villanueva during the event’s formal launching at Unity Cafe on Friday, April 23.

Villanueva was joined by the league’s vice president for operations Josephril Partosa, VP for Membership Robert Wamilda, treasurer Roy Rendon, and past president Alan Choachuy.

Before the hardcourt hostilities, a simple opening ceremony will take place at 6 p.m.

Making up the list of title contenders are Sinclair, Davies Paints, Johnro, RELLM, EGS, Avantrac, Dextructures, CBM, Fenestram, and Sports & Play.

They will play a single round robin, with the top eight advancing to the quarterfinal round. The top two qualifiers will enjoy a twice-to-beat advantage

The winners will proceed to the semifinals, and then to the championship. – EBV
