Dumanjug pulls off bounce-back win
CEBU, Philippines — Dumanjug rebounded quickly from a previous loss to Ronda and vented its ire on Moalboal, 62–54, in the inaugural Calderon Cup Inter-Town 21 Under Basketball Tournament at the Dumanjug Sports Complex three nights ago.
Renz Nathan Villarojo bagged 14 points with five rebounds and two steals while TJ Tejedor chipped in 11 markers, three rebounds and two steals as Dumanjug regained the Bracket A lead with a 4-1 win-loss card.
Jhon Ryan Abines finished with 13 points, six rebounds, one assist, five steals and four blocks but to no avail as Moalboal fell to 3–2.
On the other hand, Ronda downed Alcantara, 67–58, for its third victory in five games.
Joseph Rodriguez paced Ronda with 24 points, three rebounds and six steals while Jems Carl Catingan added 10 points, one rebound, three assists and a steal.
Eiam Zyann Gador fired 25 points but his efforts proved futile as the listless Alcantara further languished at the cellar with a pitiful 0-5 record.
