Christwil Villanueva up for a new challenge with Victor Racing Team

CEBU, Philippines — Multi-titled Cebuano rider Christwil “Bogart” Villanueva opens a new chapter in his promising career with the elite Victor Racing Team based in Malaysia.

“I am very happy. It’s a great honor for me to be part of this prestigious team,” said Villanueva.

The pride of Talisay City will be tested right away as he now competes in the much tougher AP250 category of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) 2026 Season set to kick off on April 10-12 at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.

The AP250 or the Asia Production 250cc category is a premier motorcycle racing class within the ARRC. It is a competitive arena for developing talent and serves as a key stepping stone for young riders to enter international competition.

“I went through intense preparations, both mental and physical, for my first race abroad this year,” shared Villanueva, who will be joined by fellow Filipino riders Timothy Rojas, John Emerson Inquito, Carlsen Solis, April King Mascardo, Mckinley Kyle Paz, and Leandro Paredes in Round 1 of the 2026 ARRC battle.

“This is a different class with lots of champion racers but I will do my best,” he added.

As he brings his skills to the big stage of two-wheel racing in Asia, Villanueva is also laser-focused and determined to defend his throne as a national champion.

Last year, Villanueva bagged the overall crown in Super Sport Bike SP of the Motul MotoIR National Championship at Tarlac Circuit Hill in San Jose, Tarlac.

For that, he was honored at the 40th Sportswriters Association of Cebu (SAC) Awards and at the 2026 Philippine Racing Industry Awards (PRIA) just last month.

“Hopefully I will make it to the Top 10 in the ARRC and MSBK (Malaysia Superbike Championship),” said Villanueva. “But I will also strive hard to have a podium finish and maintain my current status as national champion. These are my goals this year.”
