Chepsiror, Torregosa top Cebu Marathon 2026

CEBU, Philippines — Kenyan national Eric Chepsiror made a triumphant return while long distance running star Artjoy Torregosa from Agusan del Sur stamped her class in the Cebu Marathon 2026 yesterday starting and ending at SM Seaside City.

Chepsiror, who missed last year s edition due to an ankle injury, bagged the men s 42K crown with the fastest time of two hours, 30 minutes, and 53  seconds.

Lapiz, the 2025 champion, placed second in 2:32:46, while Luka Lagat settled for third in 2:36:58.

Torregosa, on the other hand, reigned supreme in the women s division of the full marathon race. The 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games medalist clocked in 2:53:17.

Lizane Abella came in second in 3:13:33 followed by April Joy Alampayan in 3:16:06.

In the 21K category, another Kenyan runner Daniel Boiwo clinched the title with the time of four hours and nine minutes. Richard Sala o and Rogen Aguirre occupied the second and third spots in 4:10:09 and 4:11:04, respectively.

Michelle Zamora topped the women s 21K in 4:25:47, with Jessa Mae Roda (4:27:50) and Pia Englyst (4:30:08) winding up second and third.

The Top 3 winners in the 10K were Mark Mahinay (5:02.23), Stephine Delariarte (5:03.13) and Mark Gumaya (5:03:54) in the men s and Edna Magtubo (5:08.31), Asia Paraase (5:11.07), and Jeanly Mata (5:14.03) in the distaff side.

In the 5K, the Top 3 finishers were Dhem AJ Monton (5:45.07), Noli Torre (5:45.15), and Kharl Francis Hubag (5:45,34) in the men s and Jasrain Mizzy Nova (5:49.43), Reilizha Kendra Cabiles (5:49.56), and Laarne Dinoy (5:50.05) in the women s class.
