CEBU, Philippines — The PAREF Springdale Titans etched their names stone after ending the decade-long dominance of the Don Bosco Technical College (DBTC) Greywolves in elementary football during the Cebu City Olympics 2025 at the Cebu City Sports Center recently.

The championship match was a tense affair, with both sides locked in a scoreless draw at the end of regulation.

The title was ultimately decided through a penalty shootout, where Springdale downed Don Bosco, 3-1.

In a bold tactical move, veteran coach Mario Ceniza substituted his goalkeeper just before the shootout, a gamble that proved decisive for the Titans.

As far as Ceniza could remember, the Springdale booters last captured the elementary crown 15 years ago.

The team struggled to sustain momentum in the years that followed, with the K-12 transition and later the pandemic disrupting its program.

After a long wait, Springdale has rediscovered its rhythm to regain its throne and book a ticket to the 2026 Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (CVIRAA) Meet.

The Bosconians, on the other hand, still have something to be proud of after they blanked the University of San Jose-Recoletos (USJ-R) Baby Jaguars, 3-0, to stay as champions in the secondary division.

In the battle for third place, Springdale edged past Abellana National School (ANS), 2-1, to grab the bronze medal.
