Healthy Home targets back-to-back titles as the Cebu Architects Basketball Cub (CABC) 3rd Boysen Cup gets underway today (Sunday, October 19) at the Game Changer Sports Facility along Hernan Cortes Street in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City.
Before the games, a simple opening ceremony will take place starting at 1:30 p.m.
Dexel Caadan, Ferdinand Tiro, Mito Parba, Rhayn Pepito, and Mark Paradero will banner Healthy Home’s campaign to retain its crown.
Expected to give the defending champions a run for their money are Virtuoso, Color Series, KnoxOut, Nation, and Titan Superflex.
During a press conference at Club Filipino de Cebu in FGU Center-Ayala yesterday, the organizers led by Oliver Tan and Rolan Paolo Alberto together with Boysen Paints Assistant Area Manager Miggy Aparri announced that the two-month tournament will follow a single round robin format in the classification round.
The top two teams will gain an outright semifinal berth. The rest will battle it out in the quarterfinal playoffs, with the third seed taking on No.6 and the fourth-ranked squad going up against No.5 in knockout matches.
Both the semifinals and the championship are a winner-take-all affair.
