CEBU, Philippines — Central Visayas bannered by the University of Cebu (UC) Webmasters will open its title bid against the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) in men’s basketball event of the 2025 Private Schools Athletic Association (PRISAA) National Games today (Monday, April 7) at the Cagayan State University (CSU)-Carig Campus gym in Tuguegarao City.

Tip-off is set at 10:30 a.m.

The Webmasters of coach Kernn Sesante earned the right to represent Region 7 in the five-day cage wars after beating PMI Bohol in their best-of-three duel during the regional qualifying last month at the University of San Carlos (USC)-Downtown Campus gymnasium.

“We are very grateful for the opportunity to represent Region 7 in the National PRISAA,” Sesante said. “Despite the short notice, our year-long training program came in handy.”

“We’ve always emphasized readiness, discipline, and consistency. We’ve kept our players sharp, focused, and hungry,” he added. “We have initially shown this when we played in the regional eliminations against a very good Bohol team.”

Sesante vowed that the Webmasters will give everything they’ve got in their quest for the national crown.

“We’re fully committed to representing Region 7 and of course, the University of Cebu, with pride, heart, and the best basketball we can play,” Sesante assured.

Under the leadership of team captain John Carl Angelio, the rest of UC lineup includes Joseph Arth Nalos, Kendall Limana, Ricofer Sordilla, John Regie Dajab, Arnold Miñoza Jr., Danie Boy Lapiz, Luther Leonard, Ray Charles Libatog, Prince Rasheer Aseñas, Niño Jeff Atunay, and Mark Jhon Ecal.

After BARMM, Central Visayas will take on Central Luzon (Region 3) on Tuesday, April 8, before winding up its elimination round campaign against Eastern Visayas (Region 8) on Wednesday, April 9.
